Seminar Highlights

Effective operation and maintenance (O&M) of hospital engineering systems are essential for ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted clinical services. Unlike other industries where system failures may lead to inconvenience or financial loss, disruptions within healthcare environment can have life-threatening consequences.

In this seminar, the speaker will share extensive frontline experience. To exploring the complexities of managing diverse building services systems such as electrical supply, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), medical gas systems, and infection control infrastructures. The presentation will also cover lessons learned and the unique challenges of managing high-stakes healthcare environments, offering valuable insights into optimizing system performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing patient safety.

Participants will gain insights into the latest trends and best practices in hospital O&M, learn strategies for regulatory compliance and risk management, and acquire tools to enhance the safety and efficiency of healthcare environments. 

Speakers:

Ir Vitus Choi

Vitus is a veteran in the field of building services engineering with nearly 49 years of extensive experience in the O&M of building services installations across public and private sectors. He began as a craft apprentice and advanced through progressively senior roles, acquiring in-depth technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, energy management, and regulatory compliance.

He spent over 31 years of service in local public hospitals, assuming a managerial role from 1997 to lead operation and maintenance for healthcare facilities, system upgrades, and ensure reliable support for clinical operations. Since 2021, he has served as facility management advisor at a leading local private hospital, focusing on infrastructure resilience, sustainability, and system performance.

He is a Registered Professional Engineer, member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, member of the Institution of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management and a founding member of Building Services Operation and Maintenance Executives Society.

Application Deadline

The deadline of application will be on or before 30 August 2025 depends on registration quota is reached. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation e-mail prior to the seminar. If no confirmation e-mail is received by that time, the application will be considered unsuccessful. Participants will receive a 1.5-hour CPD e-certificate via e-mail within one month after the seminar.

This seminar is recognized under the CPD Scheme of the Property Management Services Authority as an Official activity. Property Management Practitioner licensee may earn CPD hours through participating in this seminar.
