Y·PARK
Under the waste management strategy of treating waste as valuable resources, the Government has built a number of resources recovery facilities to transform waste into material and energy resources. Y·PARK located in Tsang Tsui, Tuen Mun and adjacent to West New Territories (WENT) Landfill is a waste-to-resource facility which can turn yard waste into various useful products, such as mulch for gardening, substrate for mushroom cultivation, raw wood for making furniture, decoration and wood art.
During this technical visit, you will learn how suitable yard waste can be transformed into various forms of recyclable materials such as wood chips, wood boards and wood beams for the above gainful uses. Participants can also experience various applications of these recyclable materials and their benefits via outdoor leisure areas, wooden installations, decorative items and sculptures at Y·PARK as well as the upcycled exhibits at the Resources Centre and Upcycled Products Showroom.
After the technical visit, participants can enjoy woodworking session at Y·PARK workshop to customize your own decorative wooden item.
